General Hazzard was formerly known as "the Limonator", a limo monster ride truck! It was seen then on WWE with "Stone Cold Steve Austin" driving it! Dan Evans, owner of Destroyer Monster Truck, owned a limousine company and built the Limonator Monster Truck!
It was in very sad shape, rusted, with the body literally falling off. It was brought to Orville Hill's shop in Ocala, FL, current owner of the Monkey'n Around Racing Truck. Hating to see it go to waste, Orville offered to resurrect it from the dead. Orville and several friends worked several weeks after work, shortening the frame and moving the rear forward, repairing the motor, and building the ride seat platform as it is now. (which was later modified further by Chet Arnold).
Orville named it the Monkey'n Around ride in October of 2004. For all of Orville's efforts in resurrecting the truck, Chet allowed Orville to use it for 6 months, at the end of which time it was relinquished to Chet, but without the Monkey'n Around name.
Chet repainted it, and did some of his own modifications along the way and it became "General Hazzard" in July of 2005!
A BIG thank you and hats off to Orville, Gale, and Chet for dreaming big and all of their efforts as well as success! We are so excited to be apart of this history in keeping "General Hazzard" alive and well!
Now in the hands of Ryan Rice and family, there have been even more modifications. A new four link suspension, rebuilt engine, and mechanical adjustments, the General is doing better than ever! We don’t want to brag, but we are so proud of all of the work that has gone into the past 3 years.
